Peanut Butter Bliss Balls

They may be small but they pack a mighty protein punch…

I USE HEMP POWDER IN THESE VEGAN SNACK BALLS, ALONGSIDE A WHOLE HOST OF NUTS, SEEDS AND NATURAL SWEETENERS LIKE AGAVE NECTAR AND VANILLA WHICH MAKE THEM REFINED SUGAR FREE AND A GREAT SOURCE OF PLANT-BASED PROTEIN.

Offer them straight from the fridge as part of breakfast on busy mornings or as a post nap pick-me-up. I’m also planning to freeze a few as a test; I have a feeling they would work well as an afternoon snack if packed straight from the freezer in the morning. I’ve drizzled these in dairy free fruit based chocolate but next time I plan to dip them in melted chocolate to make them even more decadent (and less of a breakfast food).

You will need a food processor for this recipe to be most effective. Makes around 15 balls. 

Suitable from 12 months

INGREDIENTS: 

  • 1 cup or 90g Oats 
  • ½ cup or 125g Peanut Butter 
  • ¼ cup or 52g Coconut Oil
  • 1 tbs Hemp Protein
  • 1 tbs Agave Nectar
  • ½ tablespoon Flaxseeds
  • ¼ tsp Vanilla (extract or paste)
  • ¼ tsp Cinnamon 
  • 1 tsp Chia Seeds
  • Pinch of salt

METHOD:

Place all of the ingredients in the largest bowl of your food processor and blitz until combined using a large blade. This should take around a minute. Taste and adjust the flavours if necessary. Then taking a teaspoon of mixture at a time, roll into balls with the palm of your hand. This would be a lovely recipe to get your child involved with. Mine however had just woken from her nap and was much more content to lick ‘chocolate’ sauce out of a dish then help roll…

Store them in the fridge in an air tight container for up to a week. I’ll update this post when I’ve tested my freezer batch!
